Musebox: Special Projects: Hope's Journey
Hope's Journey
Hope's Journey is a project based on a poem I wrote one night in a flurry of activity. I saw this poem so vividly that I knew I had to try to make a short film. This page will detail my efforts to do so.

The journey so far ...

- Chelsea Conlin is working on rough sketches based on my truly rougher sketches. Her rates are great so I am trying to have her do a few images at a time as I am able. I'll use her work to help me put together the animatic.
- Animax said I can use their facilities via a barter arrangement so I'm thankful for that. I use to do some Flash illustration for them.
- Angie Light (Animax co-worker and actress) has agreed to do the rough voice narration for the poem. She probably should have been offended by what I offered to pay but she is actually sweet in addition to talented. I want to get the rough voice track to help get a feel for this thing.
- John Thomas (another co-worker from Animax) offered to record and prepare the track for about half his usual cost which I am grateful for. I expect I can have the money ready by the time the artwork for the animatic is ready, probably 4 weeks at this rate.
- Need an old computer -that is better than my really old computer. My good PC fried and no money to fix it (cheaper to buy a new one). I want to teach myself a little Blender 3D to see if I can render the ocean scenes at least. Not sure if I will go all 3D but my drawing is rough so I was thinking if I can render the ocean, clouds and smoke I could rotoscope or cartoon render or something. Anyway I want to test it.
As you can see I have a long way to go but at least I have started. Hope that I will have something to show over the next few months.
