Hi. This is a site where I hope to share some of my personal and family interests. My name is Humberto - but most folks just call me Burt. I've been a happily married family guy for about 20 years now. With my wonderful sweet wife Patty and awesome son Jeremy encouraging me, I went back to school at the age of 46 and decided to follow up on my childhood love of art and writing.

With their help I was able to juggle full time work and school and get through in 18 months.In May 2007 I got my first creative gig at  Animax. Sadly, at the time of this writing (May 2008) I was laid off along with 24 fellow artists. As a result I am updating this web site while pursuing freelance opportunities and searching the want ads.

I have had several websites over the years. VBExplorer.com, which started as a Visual Basic programming site for novices, was undoubtedly the most popular site I ever created with several million page views each month. All of the sites imploded when the net bubble burst in 2000 and essentially vanished -though sad bits and pieces still float about the net in a sort of virtual debris field.

Still reading? Really? Ok, well then my intent in setting up this site is to show off some of my art work, share some free resources, bits from my family and whatever else occurs to me on those late nights when I find myself pecking at the keyboard. In short, I'll be stumbling around like a one legged pirate, on the buttered deck of a bucking ship, in the middle of the stormy sea. Arrggghh Matey! ;-)
